Description

A simple and satisfying recipe for freshly baked bread that is perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm water
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it’s bubbly.
  2. Gradually stir in the flour and salt until a dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Shape the dough into loaves and place them in greased loaf pans.
  7. Let them rise for another 30 minutes, then pop them in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool them on a wire rack before slicing.

Notes

You can double the recipe for gatherings or add herbs and cheese for added flavor.
