- 1 Pillsbury pizza crust
- 1 lb pork sausage (or turkey sausage as substitute)
- 1 packet Pioneer Country sausage gravy mix
- Mozzarella shredded cheese (amount to preference)
- Butter (for greasing pan and topping crust)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Butter a large baking pan and spread out the pizza crust evenly on the pan.
- Bake the crust for 7-8 minutes until partially cooked.
- Prepare the sausage gravy according to the packet instructions: mix gravy packet with cold water, then add to boiling water to avoid lumps.
- Remove the crust from the oven and spread a thin layer of butter on top to prevent drying.
- Layer the prepared sausage gravy evenly over the crust, avoiding too much to prevent sogginess.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the gravy to your desired cheesiness.
- Cook the pork sausage in a skillet until browned and fully cooked, then distribute over the cheese layer.
- Optionally, add more shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Return the pizza to the oven and bake at 350°F for 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the pizza to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Pre-bake the crust to prevent sogginess and use a thin layer of gravy. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month.
