Description

Cajun Sausage Pasta warms the heart and brings a burst of flavor to your table. A creamy, spicy dish made in one pan, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz penne pasta
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, add the sliced smoked sausage and cook over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped bell pepper, onion, and minced garlic, sautéing until the vegetables are tender.
  4. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and mix well.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the cooked pasta and shredded cheese, stirring until the cheese has melted and everything is well combined.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For extra heat, add cayenne pepper. You can use chicken, turkey, or pork sausage. Feel free to add spinach or zucchini.
