Description
Deliciously soft and slightly tangy cream cheese sugar cookies that hold their shape well for decorating.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until it’s all blended beautifully.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry mix to the wet ingredients, stirring until combined.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let them cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For a prettier presentation, dust with powdered sugar or frost with vanilla glaze. They can also be made into sandwich cookies with jam.
