Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 8 oz sour cream
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Zest of 2 lemons
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1/3 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine the sugar, eggs, sour cream, lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla, and vegetable oil in a large bowl until smooth.
- Fold in the baking powder, salt, and all-purpose flour until just combined.
- Mix the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour half of the lemon batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Spoon half of the cream cheese mixture on top and swirl with a butter knife.
- Add the remaining lemon batter and top with the remaining cream cheese mixture, swirling again.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, then cover with foil and bake for another 15-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Serve with butter, honey, or whipped cream for an extra treat! Keeps at room temperature for 2 days, refrigerated for up to a week, or frozen for three months.
