Ingredients

- 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup grated cheese (cheddar recommended)
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large bowl, sprinkle the shredded cabbage with salt and let it sit for about 10 minutes to draw out moisture.
- Squeeze out any excess moisture from the cabbage.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, cheese, green onions, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cabbage to the mixture and stir until combined.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, about 1/4 inch deep.
- Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the skillet and flatten slightly.
- Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.
Notes
Serve warm with sour cream or a zesty dipping sauce. Great paired with a refreshing cucumber salad.
