Description

These golden bites are packed with flavor, crispy on the outside and tender inside, making them an addictive snack or side dish.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup grated cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, sprinkle the shredded cabbage with salt and let it sit for about 10 minutes to draw out moisture.
  2. Squeeze out any excess moisture from the cabbage.
  3. In another bowl, mix the flour, cheese, green onions, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the cabbage to the mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat, about 1/4 inch deep.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the skillet and flatten slightly.
  7. Fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  8. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil.

Notes

Serve warm with sour cream or a zesty dipping sauce. Great paired with a refreshing cucumber salad.
