- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is mixed well.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually mix this into the wet ingredients until you’ve got a nice dough.
- Roll the dough into little balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake them for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are just lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack.
- Once they’re completely cooled, sprinkle on that powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Serve at room temperature. Pairs well with cold milk or a hot cup of tea.
