A rich and gooey cake that replicates the flavors of classic turtle candies with layers of caramel, chocolate, and pecans.
Ingredients

- 1 box chocolate cake mix (devil’s food is perfect)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought)
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans, plus a handful for topping
- 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk (optional)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 inch pan.
- Mix the cake mix, eggs, milk, and oil in a bowl until smooth.
- Stir in half of the chocolate chips and pecans.
- Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Poke holes in the cake using the handle of a wooden spoon.
- Pour caramel sauce over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
- Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and pecans on top.
- Let it cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For extra indulgence, drizzle more warmed caramel before serving. A pinch of salt on top can balance the sweetness.
