- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or your choice)
- 2 tablespoons gluten-free flour
- 2 cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)
- 2 tablespoons butter or a substitute
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: breadcrumbs for topping
Instructions
- Cook the gluten-free macaroni according to package instructions, then drain.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the gluten-free flour and stir for about 1 minute to create a roux.
- Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- If desired, place in a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy your delicious gluten-free mac and cheese!
Notes
