Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter or a substitute
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions

  1. Cook the gluten-free macaroni according to package instructions, then drain.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the gluten-free flour and stir for about 1 minute to create a roux.
  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the sauce thickens.
  5. Stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. If desired, place in a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes.
