A quick and easy recipe for homemade Philly cheesesteaks featuring ground beef, sautéed vegetables, and gooey provolone cheese.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for sautéing
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until softened.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper.
- Preheat the oven or a broiler.
- Place the hoagie rolls on a baking sheet and fill each with the beef and vegetable mixture.
- Top each sandwich with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Broil in the oven for about 2-4 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy your Philly cheesesteaks!
Notes
For extra flavor, sauté some minced garlic with the onions and peppers. Consider using ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
