Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: other vegetables like carrots or green beans

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onion over medium heat until the beef is browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, seasoned beef mixture, and any additional vegetables.
  4. Pour the cream of mushroom soup over the layers.
  5. Top with shredded cheese.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
