Description

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 Scotch bonnet pepper, sliced (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and thyme; cook for an additional minute.
  4. Stir in chopped cabbage and sliced Scotch bonnet pepper.
  5. Sauté until cabbage is tender yet crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, stir, and serve hot.

Notes

For extra spice, add more Scotch bonnet or hot sauce. For sweetness, try adding grated carrots while sautéing.
