Description
A warm and cozy apple crisp made with tender apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and a crispy oat topping.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, toss chopped apples with cinnamon and half of the brown sugar. Spread evenly in a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, combine oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and apples are bubbly.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice to the apples before baking. You can also mix in nuts for added crunch. If you want a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
