Description

A warm and cozy apple crisp made with tender apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and a crispy oat topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss chopped apples with cinnamon and half of the brown sugar. Spread evenly in a greased baking dish.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, melted butter, and salt. Mix until crumbly.
  4. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples, covering them evenly.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and apples are bubbly.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of lemon juice to the apples before baking. You can also mix in nuts for added crunch. If you want a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
