Description
Soft and slightly chocolatey red velvet cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese frosting, perfect for a special breakfast or brunch.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Milk (for thinning frosting if needed)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface. Spread with softened cream cheese and roll into a log.
- Cut the log into even slices and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until fluffy and baked through.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla for the frosting. Add a splash of milk if you want a looser glaze.
- Drizzle the frosting over the warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with extra powdered sugar and coffee. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
