Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until blended.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold in the diced apples.
- Heat oil in a deep pan until hot but not smoking.
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
- Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
- For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over the warm fritters.
Notes
Store extras in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or freeze them.
