Description

Fluffy, sweet fritters packed with tender apple chunks, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • Oil for frying
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar. Mix well.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until blended.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently fold in the diced apples.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan until hot but not smoking.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  6. Remove fritters and drain on paper towels.
  7. For the glaze, mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over the warm fritters.

Notes

Store extras in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or freeze them.
