Description
Crisp, warm sourdough discard cinnamon sugar churro bites, a cozy easy dessert using your sourdough discard.
Ingredients
1 cup sourdough discard
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 cup water (adjust as needed)
Vegetable oil for frying
1/2 cup sugar + 2 tsp cinnamon for coating
Instructions
1. Mix sourdough discard, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
2. Gradually add water until thick but pipeable.
3. Heat oil to 350°F.
4. Pipe or drop small portions into oil.
5. Fry until golden brown.
6. Drain briefly then roll in cinnamon sugar while warm.
7. Serve immediately with dipping sauce.
Notes
Use moderately thick discard for best texture.
Reheat leftovers in oven or air fryer to refresh crispness.
Freeze for up to 2 months and reheat directly from frozen.
