A beautiful and tangy sourdough wreath bread perfect for brunch, adorned with your choice of toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sourdough starter
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: raspberries, cheese, or toppings of choice

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the sourdough starter, warm water, sugar, and butter.
  2. Gradually add the flour and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.

  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into three equal parts. Roll each part into a long rope and then braid them together to form a wreath shape.

  8. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Brush the wreath with beaten egg and sprinkle with desired toppings.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let it cool before serving.

Notes
