- 1 bag frozen chopped spinach (10 oz) – thawed and drained
- 1 block cream cheese (8 oz) – softened
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 sheet puff pastry – thawed
- 1 egg – for brushing
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, Parmesan, mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
- Drain the spinach thoroughly and add it to the mixture, ensuring no excess water remains.
- Flour a surface and roll out the puff pastry. Spread the spinach mixture evenly, leaving one edge clear to seal.
- Roll the pastry tightly like a jelly roll and wrap in plastic. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the chilled log into half-inch rounds and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Beat the egg with a splash of water and brush over the pinwheels.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and puffed.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider adding chopped fresh herbs or cooked chicken to the filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days.
