Description

A delightful Strawberry Danish that’s perfect for a sweet breakfast or lovely afternoon snack. Flaky pastry filled with creamy cheese and fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry sheets
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: additional powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a clean surface and cut them into squares.
  3. In a mixing bowl, blend the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Top each with a generous amount of chopped strawberries.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry squares toward the center to form a pocket, and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  7. Brush the danishes with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm, can be served with honey or whipped cream.
