Description

Deliciously soft chocolate cookies with a pretty powdered sugar crackle, perfect for sharing or cozy nights at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and coat them in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, giving them space.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until set and crinkled.
  9. Let cool on a wire rack.

Notes

Chill the dough briefly if your kitchen is warm for better shape and crinkles. They pair well with tea, coffee, or milk.
