Description
A simple and satisfying recipe for homemade pizza dough that you can customize with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2–1/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Grab a mixing bowl. Mix the warm water, yeast, olive oil, salt, and sugar in the bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- Start adding the flour, about 1/2 cup at a time. Mix slowly until you form a ball that doesn’t stick to the bowl.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Knead it for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough ball in an oiled bowl, then cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rise for an hour, or until it’s about double in size.
- Once the dough is ready, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer it to a cookie sheet or pizza pan and dock the dough by poking it with a fork.
- Add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings.
- Pop it in the oven at 450°F for about 10 minutes.
Notes
Use warm water for the yeast activation. Feel free to experiment with different types of flour for added flavor.
