Description

A simple and satisfying recipe for homemade pizza dough that you can customize with your favorite toppings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 21/2 to 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Grab a mixing bowl. Mix the warm water, yeast, olive oil, salt, and sugar in the bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
  2. Start adding the flour, about 1/2 cup at a time. Mix slowly until you form a ball that doesn’t stick to the bowl.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Knead it for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough ball in an oiled bowl, then cover it with plastic wrap. Let it rise for an hour, or until it’s about double in size.
  5. Once the dough is ready, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  6. Transfer it to a cookie sheet or pizza pan and dock the dough by poking it with a fork.
  7. Add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings.
  8. Pop it in the oven at 450°F for about 10 minutes.

Notes

Use warm water for the yeast activation. Feel free to experiment with different types of flour for added flavor.
