Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup baking soda
  • 1 egg (beaten, for brushing)
  • Coarse salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Feed your sourdough starter until it’s bubbly.
  2. Mix the starter with flour, water, honey, and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rise overnight.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and bring a pot of water to a boil.
  6. Divide the dough into pieces and shape them into pretzels.
  7. Boil each pretzel in baking soda water for 30 seconds.
  8. Place them on a baking sheet, brush with egg, and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
