Description
Delicious and tangy sourdough pizza crust with a perfect balance of chewy and crispy texture.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sourdough starter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup water (as needed)
Instructions
- Mix together the flour and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the sourdough starter and olive oil. Slowly stir in the water until a dough starts forming.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 4-6 hours at room temperature or overnight in the fridge.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough to your desired thickness and put it onto a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Top it with all your favorite toppings and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crisp.
Notes
For a lighter crust, let the dough rise a little longer for nice bubbles and airiness. Ensure your sourdough starter is active for better flavor and rise.
