Description
A classic Italian appetizer featuring fresh tomatoes and basil on toasted bread.
Ingredients

- 1 baguette or crusty bread
- 2 cups fresh tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices and place them on a baking sheet.
- Brush the slices with olive oil and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until they’re golden brown.
- Combine the diced tomatoes, basil, minced garlic, some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl and give it a good mix!
- Top each toasted slice of bread with the tomato mixture.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For best texture, toast the bread just before serving. Leftovers can be stored separately.
