- 2 tablespoons finely ground parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried onion flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon MSG (optional)
- 305 grams all-purpose flour (2 1/2 cups)
- 15 grams olive oil (1 tablespoon)
- 4 grams instant yeast (1 teaspoon)
- 7 grams salt (1 teaspoon)
- 227 grams warm water (1 cup)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for greasing the pan)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (for topping)
Instructions
- Start by preparing the breadstick seasoning. Mix all the seasoning ingredients in a bowl and pop it into the fridge.
- In a large bowl, combine all the dough ingredients. Knead the dough by hand for about 15 minutes or, if you’re using a stand mixer, mix for 8 minutes until it’s slightly sticky.
- Place your dough in an oiled bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about an hour in a warm place until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Spread the risen dough into the pan, scoring it into 8-10 breadstick portions.
- Cover the pan again and let the dough rise for another 45 minutes until it’s nice and puffy.
- Bake them in the oven for 30-35 minutes until they’re golden, cooked through, and the bottom is crispy.
- Once they’re out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter and sprinkle with any leftover seasoning.
- Serve them warm, maybe with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
For extra flavor, add more herbs like thyme or basil. Ensure the water is warm, not hot, when activating yeast.
